Why the installer matters

A thirty-year board on a five-year install is a five-year exterior

James Hardie fiber cement is unusually unforgiving of bad installation. Fastener spacing, clearance to grade, flashing at every penetration and the right board for the climate zone are all specified, and all of them are invisible from the street once the job is done.

That is the whole reason the Elite Preferred tier exists, and the whole reason we take it seriously.

Elite Preferred

James Hardie's top contractor designation. It is not a sticker you buy; it is earned on installed work and it can be lost.

Hardie Alliance certified

Every one of our installers is certified to install James Hardie products. That certification is what keeps the manufacturer warranty in force.

Two warranties, in writing

The James Hardie material warranty covers the board. Our workmanship warranty covers the install. You should have both, and most homeowners are only ever offered one.

The right zone, unasked

New York is HardieZone HZ5. Ordering the wrong zone is a quiet way to void a warranty, and getting it right without being asked is part of the job.

Licensed and insured

Better Business Bureau member, licensed by the Suffolk, Nassau and New York City Offices of Consumer Affairs.

A century of product behind it

James Hardie has been making exterior materials for more than a hundred years, and asbestos-free fiber cement since the mid-1980s.

The product range

Five James Hardie products, one exterior

Most full exteriors on Long Island use two or three of these together. The trim and soffit are what make the difference between a siding job and a finished house.

HardiePlank lap siding on a white colonial
HardiePlank®

Lap siding

James Hardie's best-selling product and the most popular brand of siding in America. Traditional clapboard lines, available in a full range of ColorPlus colors.

HardieShingle siding and trim on a gable
HardieShingle®

Shingle siding

The classic, timeless Cape Cod look. Available in half-round, staggered or straight-edge styles, and the fastest way to add character to a plain elevation.

HardiePanel vertical siding detail
HardiePanel®

Vertical siding

For a cleaner, more contemporary elevation. Board-and-batten and modern vertical layouts both start here.

HardieTrim board detail at a window
HardieTrim®

Trim boards

Corners, windows, doors and rakes. Trim is what ties the exterior together, and mismatched trim is the fastest way to make good siding look cheap.

HardieSoffit pre-cut panels under an eave
HardieSoffit®

Pre-cut soffit panels

Soffits protect the roof and siding from the weather and are a common entry point for pests. Available in the same colors, so they match or deliberately contrast.

Questions we get every week

What does Elite Preferred actually mean?

Elite Preferred is James Hardie's top contractor designation. In practice it means our crews are Hardie Alliance certified to install the product, which is what keeps the manufacturer's warranty intact. An uncertified install is the most common way a homeowner finds out, years later, that the warranty does not apply.

Do you install across all of Long Island?

Yes. We work across Nassau and Suffolk and into Brooklyn. You can see the service areas we cover most often, and we are licensed by the Suffolk, Nassau and New York City Offices of Consumer Affairs.

Which James Hardie products do you carry?

HardiePlank lap siding, HardieShingle, HardiePanel vertical siding, HardieTrim boards and HardieSoffit pre-cut panels, all available in ColorPlus finishes. Most full exteriors combine two or three of them.

Do you warranty your own work?

Yes. We issue our own workmanship warranty separate from the material warranty James Hardie offers. The two cover different things and you should have both in writing.

What does a free estimate involve?

We walk the exterior, measure, talk through product and color, and give you a written scope you can hold next to any other quote. No cost and no obligation.
